Sound Familiar? We said it as children and heard it as parents. Everyone wants to get ther right now! As in life, developing a golf game, at any level takes time and patience. Golf season is here and now is the time to begin "working on your game" so you can get to where you want to go! If you are a beginner, start your lessons now, not in the middle of the summer-that's when you should be chasing that little white golf ball around the golf course! Get involved in a leasson program the included full swing, shortgame, putting and covers basuc "game" information. I offer a warning to the newbies- you will get hooked, just like the rest of us!
For experienced golfers, run to your respective practice facility and or courses and begin "working on your game." Start with setting goals for the season- from how often you are going to play, to what handicap you would like to finish the season with. Once your goals are set, start your engine! Begin with defining a practice routine that starts with some type of physical stretching- or as most people refer to it "loosening up". Not only is this important to the body, but also the golf swing requires flexibility, so loosen up before every practice session and round of golf! Once you have started practicing, and I have said this for 30 plus years, take a least one golf lesson! I dont care how many lessons you have had in the past. Do you not change the oil in your car every 3,000 miles- why? We do it to maintain the efficiency of our vehicles. Your golf swing is even more important! (Just kidding- I think) A lesson coming out of winter will provide you with fundamental direction. All golfers know that time away from thier game has a tendency to attract unwated strokes.
See you at the golf course. Oh, and by the way I'll be writing about your swing, my swing and what the heck - everybody's swing. As well as the great game of golf. So don't forget me- I promise to entertain you and maybe even help your golf game!
